The NHD-124-TX is a 4-input 4K AV-over-IP quad encoder designed to transmit multiple HDMI sources across managed IP networks. It encodes four HDMI inputs into four independent network streams and supports 4K @ 30Hz video. This encoder is intended to integrate with NetworkHD 120 series decoders to form large-scale AV distribution systems.
Key features include low bandwidth compression, AES-128 network encryption, and configurable encoding modes for constant bitrate or variable bitrate. The unit supports both low-latency and high-quality transmission modes – offering approximately 150ms latency for fast switching and roughly 400ms for higher quality streams. Video wall support up to 16×16 plus screen rotation and mosaic processing are available when paired with compatible decoders.
Technically, the NHD-124-TX handles 4K sources compliant with HDMI v1.4 and HDCP 2.2 and provides seamless switching with no black frames or freeze frames. It supports all SD and HD formats including interlaced content and offers live preview streams for control interfaces. Encoding is optimized to deliver up to six times lower bandwidth compared to uncompressed transport while preserving visual fidelity.
Connectivity includes four HDMI inputs and Gigabit network connectivity for stream distribution, along with flexible IP addressing options such as AutoIP, Static, and DHCP. The encoder is compatible with the NetworkHD Touch Control app and integrates with NHD-CTL-PRO system controllers for centralized management. It also supports compatibility with NHD-150-RX multiview receivers for monitoring applications.
