Description
The NHD-120-RX-S is a networked 4K30 4:2:0 decoder designed to receive compressed AV streams over IP and deliver HDMI or analog outputs. It is treated with Sealoc Weatherloc nano-coating to resist water, moisture, salt-air and dust for outdoor or harsh environment endpoints. The unit supports AES 128-bit encryption for secure AV transport across IP networks.
Key capabilities include low-bandwidth decoding that reduces network load while preserving image quality, hardware support for video walls up to 16×16, and mosaic wall composition with rotation and bezel compensation. The decoder supports end-to-end low latency modes and high quality modes to match different application needs. It also provides discrete audio de-embedding and separate routing of audio, IR and RS-232 streams.
Performance specifications include 3840x2160p at 30Hz 4:2:0 8bit and 1920x1080p at 60Hz support, a maximum pixel clock of 297MHz, and LPCM/MPEG4 AAC stereo audio at 48kHz. Latency is approximately 250ms in high quality 1080p mode and reduces to roughly 80ms in low latency 1080p mode, while 4K latency is approximately 300ms high quality and 150ms low latency. The decoder is HDCP 2.2 compatible and supports image scaling to mix resolutions across a video wall.
Connectivity includes a 10/100Base-T RJ45 input for AV over IP and PoE 802.3af support, one HDMI type A output, and a 3-pin phoenix analog audio output. Control ports include RS-232 via 3-pin phoenix, IR TX/RX 3.5mm TS jacks, SSH and HTTPS management, and NHD Control app compatibility. The unit supports flexible IP addressing modes including DHCP, Static and AutoIP and integrates with Sygma Cloud Device Management for remote monitoring and firmware updates.
Typical applications include outdoor digital signage, patio or rooftop displays, event video walls and coastal installations where weather resistance is required. The decoder is also suited for integrated AV systems that require encrypted AV over IP, discrete audio extraction, and synchronized multiview or video wall layouts. Its PoE capability simplifies deployment where DC power outlets are limited.
Installation is streamlined with included wall and rack mounting brackets and a low power profile supporting PoE or a 12VDC 1A supply. The Sealoc coating avoids bulky ventilated enclosures for outdoor endpoints while preserving thermal performance. Firmware batch update and settings functions accelerate commissioning for multi-device deployments.
