Description
The NHD-120-IW-TX is a 2-gang in-wall AV over IP encoder designed to capture HDMI sources and deliver compressed streams across standard Ethernet networks. It encodes video using H.264 or H.265 and supports up to 3840x2160p@30 4:2:0 so high-resolution content can be distributed with reduced bandwidth. The compact decora-style form factor allows discrete installation in walls, desks, podiums or furniture.
This encoder offers selectable H.264 or H.265 encoding modes and supports configurable CBR or VBR bitrates up to 30 Mbps. It provides low-latency and high-quality operation modes with measured latencies as low as ~80 ms for 1080p low-latency mode and ~150 ms for 4K low-latency mode. A built-in scaler ensures compatibility between 4K and 1080p endpoints without manual signal conversion.
On the audio and video side the unit accepts a single HDMI 19-pin input and outputs an AV stream over a dedicated 1 GbE port. Supported video resolutions include 3840x2160p@30 4:2:0, 1920x1080p@60 4:2:0 and 1920x1200p@60 4:2:0 while audio is delivered as LPCM stereo at 32/44.1/48 kHz 16-bit. The encoder also provides a stream preview option and a maximum pixel clock of 150 MHz.
Connectivity includes a full 1 GbE RJ45 port for AV streaming plus an auxiliary 1 GbE channel for attaching networked source devices. Additional I/O includes a 5-pin phoenix analog audio connector and a 3.5 mm IR TX for remote source control. Control and security support AES-128, SSH and HTTPS for secure management and communication.
The NHD-120-IW-TX is suitable for corporate AV, education, and house-of-worship deployments where discreet local source capture and network distribution are required. It integrates with WyreStorm NetworkHD 100 Series decoders and the NHD-150-RX multiview receiver, enabling matrix switching, video walls and monitoring workflows. It supports multicast scaling and live preview for control system integration.
Installation is simplified by 802.3af PoE power support and a minimal front panel footprint that matches standard decora wall plates. Batch firmware updates, batch settings and custom EDID import/export reduce deployment time in multi-device installations. The unit is HDCP 2.2 compliant and provides analog audio de-embed for connection to AV DSPs or amplifiers.
