The MX-0808-KIT v2 is an 8×8 HDBaseT matrix switcher kit designed to distribute HDMI sources to multiple displays and audio zones. It routes up to eight HDBaseT outputs and provides four mirrored HDMI outputs for additional local displays. The kit includes HDBaseT receivers and supports power over HDBaseT to simplify installation.
Key features include 4K/60 4:2:0 video support, HDBaseT Class B transmission, PoH to receivers and balanced analog audio de-embed outputs. The unit supports CEC triggering, A/V mute and standby modes to manage displays and conserve power. Four balanced 2-channel analog outputs follow the last four HDBaseT zones for audio distribution to amplifiers or ceiling speakers.
Performance-wise the matrix handles 3840x2160p at 60Hz 4:2:0, 3840x2160p at 30Hz 4:4:4 and 1920x1080p at 60Hz with appropriate color depths. The HDBaseT link operates at a 9.2Gbps encoding rate with an end-to-end latency of 10us. Supported standards include HDMI 1.4, HDCP 2.2 and HDR formats such as HDR10 and HLG.
Connectivity includes eight HDMI inputs, eight HDBaseT outputs, four mirrored HDMI outputs, balanced analog audio outputs, RS-232, Ethernet, and bi-directional IR for control. EDID management is available via DIP switches and the integrated WebUI for fine control of source/display capabilities. The included receivers accept one HDMI input and provide HDBaseT receive functionality and IR pass-through.
This matrix kit suits retail, hospitality, education and corporate AV installations where multiple zones require independent source routing and local mirrored displays. It enables centralized source management while providing audio de-embed outputs for distributed audio zones and amplifier connections. CEC trigger and API control allow automated power and control workflows in multi-screen deployments.
Installation is simplified by PoH support for receivers, a compact 1U chassis with adjustable rack brackets, and an embedded WebUI for setup and EDID configuration. The system supports password-protected installer settings to safeguard configuration and offers WebUI copying of EDID for consistent display behavior.
