The Kramer MTX3-88-HSA is a scaler-based 8×8 HDMI matrix switcher designed to route any of eight HDMI sources to any of eight HDMI outputs. It provides per-output scaling to ensure compatibility between mixed-resolution sources and displays. The unit delivers fast switching and controlled transitions to maintain presentation continuity and user experience.
Key features include integrated video scaling, an audio matrix with balanced analog I/O and ARC extraction, and multiview output layouts such as picture-in-picture and side-by-side. The system supports up/down scaling on each output, splash screen assignment, user-defined OSD, and I-EDIDPro intelligent EDID handling. HDCP 2.3 support and HDMI 2.0b compliance enable deep color, 3D, and up to 7.1 uncompressed audio channels.
Performance is engineered for AV installations requiring 4K@60Hz 4:4:4 support and up to 18Gbps bandwidth (6Gbps per graphic channel). Standard mode switching time is under 1 second, while low-power mode reduces consumption by up to 50 percent. The integrated audio breakaway and routing let you extract ARC or digital audio and present it to analog balanced outputs for local DSP or speaker systems.
Connectivity includes eight HDMI inputs, eight HDMI outputs, four stereo balanced analog audio inputs, four stereo balanced analog audio outputs, RS-232 control on a 3-pin terminal block, and Ethernet for secured web GUI management and API control. The IP gateway enables CEC and GPIO message routing for advanced control scenarios. Front-panel LED buttons and status LEDs provide direct local operation.
Typical applications include small to medium conference rooms, lecture halls, training spaces, hotel lobbies, museums, and experience centers where mixed sources and display types must be centrally managed. Multiview and splash screen features are useful for multi-source monitoring and room welcome or emergency messaging workflows. The device supports common AV system topologies requiring audio extraction and distribution alongside video routing.
Installation is simple with a 1U 19 inch rack enclosure, included rack ears, universal 100-240V AC power supply, and fan ventilation. The secured web UI supports credential-based access and Kramer P3K API commands while legacy RS-232 control remains available. The aluminum chassis and industry-standard connectors provide reliable field durability and predictable integration into professional AV racks.
