The MTX3-16-M is a modular 16×16 AV matrix switcher designed for large scale signal distribution and centralized management. It is engineered to route multi-format audio-visual signals while supporting future upgrades to 8K-capable matrix cards. The chassis includes a CTRL central control card and secure LAN connectivity for remote operation.
The matrix supports high-resolution video routing including 4K60 4:4:4 distribution and is 8K-ready at the central control level. It features HDCP 2.2 compliance, HDMI 2.0 signal support, deep color, x.v.Color and 3D formats. The system also manages HDMI audio including Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD as well as uncompressed HDMI audio channels.
Technical performance includes intelligent EDID management using I-EDIDPro and professional signal conditioning through Kramer equalization and re-klocking. The backplane provides high throughput per port to support multi-format AV switching and the matrix architecture is fully non-blocking to enable single or multiple output distributions. PoE over HDBaseT is available to power remote end-points over copper links.
Connectivity options cover LAN control, a 100Mbps service port, RS-232 local service, mini-USB firmware upgrades and eight modular I/O card slots plus a central control slot. The matrix interoperates with HDBaseT-certified endpoints and supports long-distance distribution via Kramer Core technology over copper or fiber. Local front panel controls, an LCD display and remote web-UI provide multiple management interfaces.
Typical deployments include enterprise AV distribution, government facilities and professional large-space installations requiring secure and scalable routing. The MTX3-16-M is designed for systems needing mixed input/output configurations and long-distance signal reach while maintaining AV fidelity. Its security certification and enterprise management integration simplify large-scale operations and monitoring.
Installation is straightforward in a 3U 19 inch rack chassis with a universal 100-240V AC power supply and field-replaceable fan module for maintenance. The unit offers front-panel LED indicators, USB firmware upgrade capability and a reset button to streamline on-site servicing. Kramer provides standards compliance and documentation to support managed deployments.
