The KDS-100EN is a 4K AVoIP encoder designed to deliver high-fidelity video distribution over standard 1GbE networks. It encodes 4K video using open-standard H.264 and H.265 codecs while preserving color fidelity up to 4:4:4 on input. The unit supports dual streaming and a built-in KVM over IP function for remote control and monitoring.
The device supports dual simultaneous streams – a full-resolution primary stream and a lower-resolution secondary stream for recording or monitoring. KVM over IP provides secure keyboard and mouse control with approximately 40 ms latency to maintain near real-time responsiveness. Predefined deployment profiles and a channel-based routing model simplify setup and operation without requiring IP addressing expertise.
Performance specifications include support for input/output up to 3840×2160@60Hz 4:4:4 and encoded streaming up to 3840×2160@60Hz 4:2:2 for the main stream. The encoder supports secondary stream output at 1920×1080@60Hz 4:2:2 and a bit rate range from 1 to 60 Mbps. Latency modes offer normal and low options, with the KVM path operating near 40 ms.
Connectivity covers HDMI I/O, balanced audio on 5-pin terminal blocks, RS-232 control and extension ports, a USB-B host for PC connectivity, and both copper LAN with PoE+ and fiber SFP options for 1000BASE-SX/LX. Network transport and streaming compatibility include RTP/RTSP, SRT, RTMP and MPEG-TS along with multicast IGMPv2. Security features follow IT-grade practices such as HTTPS/TLS, 802.1x and OWASP-10 alignment.
Typical applications include command and control, enterprise campus distribution, recording workflows, education streaming and corporate AV where channel-based routing and centralized management are required. The unit integrates with Kramer AVoIP Manager for automated discovery, centralized configuration and real-time monitoring across an AVoIP deployment. Auxiliary data support allows RS-232 command forwarding to peripherals for tight AV and control integration.
The KDS-100EN is compact and can be powered via PoE+ or an optional 12V DC power supply specified as an LPS or PS2 source. It consumes approximately 13.6W and operates within standard AV environmental ranges. Front panel indicators and channel selection buttons combined with embedded web pages and API control make installation and day-to-day operation straightforward for technical staff.
