The KD-XWPS-2 is a compact wall-plate HDMI and USB-C extender kit designed to send high-resolution AV over a single CAT6/6A cable – comprising a single-gang transmitter plate and a rackable receiver. It supports 4K/UHD resolutions up to 4096×2160 at 60Hz with 4:4:4 chroma and preserves HDCP2.2 compliance. The kit includes power options and audio de-embedding to simplify integration into AV installations.
This extender kit supports up to 18 Gbps bandwidth and uses visually lossless compression on video formats that exceed 10.2 Gbps to maintain image quality across copper runs. It provides automatic source switching when new sources are detected and de-embeds audio at the receiver to both analog and digital outputs. Power-over-CAT capability allows the receiver to power the transmitter or the transmitter to power the receiver when the optional power supply is installed at the transmitter.
Performance details include support for HDR and deep color modes, a Full Buffer System for TMDS re-clocking and HDCP/EDID management, and an EDID library with multiple handshake options including 4K HDR and 1080p presets. Extension distances are specified as 4K/UHD up to 164ft (50m) and 1080p up to 230ft (70m) over CAT6/6A. Surround audio formats such as Dolby and DTS up to 5.1 are supported.
Connectivity includes one HDMI input, one USB-C input, and a single CAT6/6A RJ45 output to the receiver. Control and integration options include RS-232 via a 3-pin phoenix terminal, IR sensor at the transmitter, and a 3.5mm mono IR output at the receiver. The transmitter plate is a U.S. single-gang brushed aluminum decora plate while the receiver ships in a compact black metal enclosure.
Typical applications include conference rooms, huddle spaces, classrooms, and media presentation areas where a discrete wall-plate source location and remote display are required. The KD-XWPS-2 supports laptop USB-C and HDMI sources and offers optional USB-C device powering when the GMB36-120200-F power supply is fitted at the transmitter plate. The audio de-embed outputs simplify routing audio to local amplifiers or DSPs.
Installation is straightforward with standard gang-box mounting hardware and included brackets and Velcro for the receiver. The kit ships with a desktop 12V/2A power supply and mounting accessories to support quick deployment. The aluminum wall plate and metal receiver enclosure provide a durable, installation-ready solution for professional AV projects.
