The KD-S4x1X-3 is a 4×1 HDMI switcher designed to consolidate multiple HDMI sources onto a single HDMI output while preserving advanced video and audio formats. It accepts SD, HD and VESA resolutions and supports DCI 4K and UHD 4K video at variable frame rates. The unit is built to manage modern HDMI workflows while providing automated source selection and professional signal handling.
Primary features include auto-switching via hot plug detection, audio de-embedding to optical and analog outputs, and an internal full buffer system that handles TMDS reclocking and HDCP authentication. The switcher supports HDR10 for expanded luminance range and selectable EDID handshakes for predictable source/display negotiation. Front-panel controls, CEC passthrough, and IR control provide flexible operator interfaces.
On the video side the KD-S4x1X-3 supports up to DCI 4K30 at 12-bit 4:4:4 color processing and up to DCI 4K60 at 8-bit 4:4:4, delivering signals up to an 18 Gb/s data rate. The full buffer system performs TMDS reclocking and signal regeneration to maintain signal integrity over connected paths. HDCP 2.2 compliance ensures compatibility with protected 4K content sources and displays.
Connectivity includes four HDMI inputs and one HDMI output plus optical S/PDIF and 3.5mm stereo analog de-embedded outputs for downstream audio systems. EDID management includes 15 selectable handshakes plus native EDID copy from the connected display for consistent source behavior. Control options include front-panel buttons/LEDs and optical IR control for remote operation.
The KD-S4x1X-3 is suited to conference rooms, digital signage endpoints, and small broadcast or production environments where multiple HDMI sources must be prioritized and routed to a single display or processor. It is also appropriate for AV racks that require HDR passthrough and de-embedded audio feeds for audio processors.
