The KD-IP1022DEC-II is a 4K AV-over-IP decoder designed to receive networked video streams and deliver HDMI output with KVM and USB routing plus audio de-embedding. It supports DCI 4K30 sources and offers PoE for flexible deployment – making it suitable for AV distribution systems that require low-latency video and centralized management. The decoder integrates with Key Digital encoder products to create scalable video wall and distribution systems.
Core features include low-latency IP decoding, scaling, HDMI pass-through, and audio de-embed through analog and optical outputs. The unit provides USB 2.0 routing for KVM devices, bidirectional RS-232, IR control channels, and a built-in EDID library to manage handshake and HDCP interactions. PoE support and a compact enclosure simplify integration into racks and furniture or distributed installations.
Performance supports DCI 4K at 24/25/30 fps and UHD 4K at 24/25/30 fps with 8-bit 4:4:4 and 4:2:2 modes over the network input. The decoder implements TMDS re-clocking, HDCP 2.2 authentication, EDID management, and hot-plug detection control to stabilize signals and compatibility. Measured latency is low and suitable for interactive KVM applications and synchronized multi-display deployments.
Connectivity includes a single GbE RJ45 input, HDMI output, two USB-A 2.0 ports for KVM and peripherals, a 6-pin block analog audio output and optical audio options via the HDMI path. Control interfaces comprise three 3-pin multi-function ports for IR/RS-232/remote, a micro-USB service port, and IP control via KeyCode open API and KDMS Pro software. The decoder is app-ready for Key Digital GUIs and supports KDMS Pro for graphical video wall layout and system setup.
This decoder is suitable for video walls, distributed digital signage, lecture halls, control rooms, and collaboration systems where 4K sources, KVM control, and separate audio feeds are required. It supports mixed display layouts and multi-layer routing when paired with compatible KD encoders and decoders. USB routing follows AV selection allowing up to four keyboard/mouse devices routed to a single host for interactive control.
Installation is straightforward with PoE support for network powering or an included 12 VDC power supply for standalone use – both options offer flexibility for rack or furniture mounting. The unit includes mounting brackets and supports hot-plug configuration to match system requirements during commissioning. Firmware and control integration via KDMS Pro or the Key Digital app enable rapid setup, image preview, and mouse-drag video wall management for installers and operators.
