The KD-CX800 is a compact control interface designed to carry control signals over IP for professional AV systems. It provides three multi-function control ports that support bi-directional RS-232, IR out, IR in, voltage trigger, and voltage sensor modes. The unit serves as a networked gateway and extension node to simplify control integration across distributed AV deployments.
The KD-CX800 supports four distinct modes of operation – control gateway for Enterprise AV over IP systems, Compass Control master controller, third-party control via KeyCode API, and control extension over IP. It includes an IR learner and sensor built into the unit and supports up to two real-time bi-directional RS-232 ports. TCP/IP device control is also supported to enable direct control from mobile controllers without consuming physical ports.
From a technical perspective, the KD-CX800 accepts generic RS-232, TCP/IP, and IR Key Digital matrix switching command strings. It can carry combinations of IR, RS-232, and voltage triggers across the network and extend control signals up to 400 ft / 121 m, with greater distances possible using adapters. The product ships with a KD-PS12V1ASC power supply requirement and meets CE, RoHS, and WEEE regulations.
Connectivity options include networked TCP/IP control, three configurable multi-function ports for IR, RS-232, trigger or sensor use, and built-in IR learner/sensor functionality. The device accepts commands from third-party control systems or Compass Control and exposes a robust KeyCode open API for advanced third-party integrations. Flexible port configuration is set via the Compass Navigator configuration software.
