Description

The HR-DDA4 is a 1×4 digital audio distributor designed to receive a single digital audio source and provide four individually buffered outputs. It accepts AES/EBU, S/PDIF coaxial, S/PDIF optical, and AES-3ID inputs and retransmits a reclocked, format-accurate signal. The unit provides front-panel status indicators for input format and sample rate to verify signal integrity.

The distributor decodes the input, reclocks the data stream, and retransmits to four outputs that are selectable per output for AES/EBU, S/PDIF coaxial, or AES-3ID. Each output includes the appropriate termination and isolation where applicable, and the device supports format conversion to match the selected output type. The HR-DDA4 also features transformer-isolated AES/EBU I/O for improved ground isolation.

Performance supports 16 to 24 bit resolution and sample rates from 32 kHz up to 192 kHz, providing compatibility with most professional audio formats. Built-in reclocking helps maintain digital integrity by removing jitter and resynchronizing the output streams. The exclusive Sure-Lok auto-recovery sentinel monitors lock conditions and reinitiates lock if latch-up or errors are detected.

Connectivity includes four independent input jacks supporting AES/EBU XLR, S/PDIF optical, S/PDIF coaxial phono, and AES-3ID BNC, and twelve outputs presented as four AES/EBU XLR, four S/PDIF coaxial phono, and four AES-3ID BNC connectors. Rear-panel selectors allow per-output format selection and conversion. Power is from a ground-referenced 24 Vdc source via detachable terminal block or DC jack and includes a front-panel power switch.

The HR-DDA4 is suitable for distribution tasks in broadcast facilities, postproduction suites, recording studios, and installed sound systems where a single digital source must feed multiple downstream devices. It clarifies routing by providing format LEDs and sample rate readouts so technicians can verify audio format and clocking at a glance. The Sure-Lok function reduces downtime by automatically recovering lock in unstable conditions.
