Description
The HR-DAC1 is a compact digital-to-analog converter designed to deliver accurate stereo analog audio from AES/EBU, AES-3ID or S/PDIF sources. It converts incoming digital streams up to 24-bit 192 kHz into balanced and unbalanced analog outputs. The unit provides professional indicators and level controls for reliable integration into broadcast and installation systems.
The HR-DAC1 features automatic input detection across four jacks and front-panel LEDs for LOCK and sample-rate indication at 44.1 kHz, 48 kHz, 96 kHz and 192 kHz. RDL Sure-Lok auto-recovery helps maintain stable operation when encountering input errors. Left and Right output trims and dual-LED meters allow precise level setting on site.
Conversion is performed using high-speed delta-sigma converters, digital filtering and filtered wideband analog drivers to preserve audio fidelity. Measured frequency response is 5 Hz to 24 kHz ±0.2 dB and THD+N is below 0.002% in typical operating conditions. Dynamic range exceeds 110 dB at 24-bit resolution, supporting critical listening and broadcast requirements.
Connectivity includes transformer-isolated 110 Ohm AES/EBU XLR, S/PDIF optical, 75 Ohm S/PDIF coaxial phono and 75 Ohm AES-3ID BNC inputs. Balanced +4 dBu outputs are available on XLR and a detachable terminal block while unbalanced -10 dBV outputs are on phono jacks. Power is 24 Vdc via terminal block or DC jack and a front-panel power switch is provided.
The HR-DAC1 is suitable for postproduction suites, broadcast racks and fixed installations that require accurate digital-to-analog conversion and easy monitoring. Use it to convert studio sources, interface digital feeds to analog consoles, or feed analog processors and recorders. Front-panel meters and adjustable trims make it simple to match levels between systems.
Installation is straightforward with detachable terminal block connections and standard XLR and phono jacks for audio and power. The compact housing and robust connectors support rack and shelf mounting in equipment racks. The HR-DAC1 provides dependable conversion and monitoring controls for professional AV deployments.
