The HP590i is a 5.25 inch two-way coaxial open-ceiling speaker designed for high output indoor and outdoor installations. It combines a polypropylene woofer and a convex titanium tweeter mounted on a tractrix waveguide to deliver consistent dispersion and speech intelligibility. The enclosure uses a ported design and a low-profile grille for discreet ceiling integration.
Key features include BroadBeamHP waveguide technology, a six-position tap selector with transformer bypass, and a proprietary cast-aluminum baffle and heat sink for improved thermal performance. The speaker provides selectable 25/70.7/100-volt transformer taps and an impedance bypass option for 8 ohm direct drive. Weatherized components and a powder-coated steel grille make the unit suitable for indoor/outdoor-sheltered environments.
Performance metrics include an 87.5 dB sensitivity, 80 W continuous RMS power rating, and a maximum program power of 160 W. Frequency response is specified at 95 Hz to 22 kHz (-3 dB) and 69 Hz to 22 kHz (-10 dB). Directivity and coverage are engineered for even coverage – averaged 2-10 kHz dispersion is approximately 85 degrees with a 90 degree pattern at 2 kHz.
Connectivity is provided via a four-pin 5.08 mm Euroblock for individual or daisy-chain wiring, plus a terminal weather boot. The unit includes hanging hardware with galvanized steel cables and an integrated SpeedClamp self-locking wire grip for rapid suspension. The tap selector provides easy access to transformer taps and a bypass for low-impedance operation.
Typical applications include voice evacuation support, background music, and speech-centric audio in retail, hospitality, atria, and covered outdoor areas. The speaker’s dispersion and high output make it suitable where clear speech intelligibility and even coverage are required. Weatherized construction also supports semi-exposed outdoor canopies and covered walkways.
Installation is simplified by included hanging hardware and an easy-access rotary tap switch. The injection-molded ABS enclosure and powder-coated grille ensure durability and long-term reliability. UL 2239 hanging cable approval and CE and RoHS compliance provide additional assurance for commercial installations.
