The Pyro 5 is a wireless transceiver monitor designed to transmit, receive, and display high-quality HD video on a 5.5 inch touchscreen. It combines transmitter and receiver roles in a single unit – allowing flexible deployment on set or in the field. The unit supports HDMI and SDI I/O and includes SD card recording and RTMP streaming options.
Key features include a 1920 x 1080 5.5 inch touchscreen at 1500 nits, dual-band 2.4/5 GHz automatic hopping, and broadcast mode that lets one transmitter send to up to four receivers. The Pyro 5 offers two transmission modes – HD mode for higher bitrates and Smooth mode for lower latency over longer distances. Proxy recording to SD or USB is supported for streamlined review and editing workflows.
Performance specifications include a line-of-sight wireless range up to 1312 ft and latency as low as 60 ms in Smooth mode, with HD mode offering up to 12 Mb/s and approximately 75 ms latency. The monitor accepts 1080p/1080i/720p inputs over HDMI 1.4b and 3G-SDI and passes embedded HDMI audio channels. Power options include an L-Series battery plate and DC barrel input to match common production power systems.
Connectivity options include 1x HDMI input, 1x SDI input, 1x HDMI loop output when used as a transmitter, and 1x HDMI output when used as a receiver. The unit also provides 2x RP-SMA antenna connectors, a USB-C port, and a 1/8″ headphone jack for monitoring. Mobile app support for Android and iOS plus RTMP streaming expand integration with live platforms and monitoring tools.
