The GTB-UHD-HBTL is an HDBaseT HDMI extender set that transmits HDMI video and control signals over a single CAT-5e or better cable. It includes a compact Sender and Receiver pair designed to extend UHD video and multichannel audio across longer runs while minimizing on-site power requirements. The product supports key HDMI features required in modern AV installations to maintain image and audio integrity at distance.
This extender supports 4K Ultra HD at 3840 x 2160 up to 60 Hz using 4:2:0 chroma and 4K 4:4:4 up to 30 Hz plus DCI 4096 x 2160 modes. Stereo and multi-channel digital audio formats are passed through intact including LPCM 7.1, Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD, DTS:X and DTS-HD Master Audio. The unit also supports HDCP 2.2 and 1.4 and HDMI 2.0 feature sets including 12-bit deep color where applicable.
Performance distances vary by resolution – 4K modes are supported up to 130 ft/40 m over shielded CAT-5e/CAT-6A cabling while 1080p Full HD signals can extend up to 230 ft/70 m. The maximum supported pixel clock is 300 MHz which constrains HDR and 4K 600 MHz 4:4:4 sources. Power consumption is modest at 12 Watts maximum and the system operates from a 24V DC supply using a locking connector.
Connectivity includes a single HDMI Type A input on the Sender and a single HDMI Type A output on the Receiver, plus an RJ-45 link port for the HDBaseT connection. IR in/out ports on both units enable bi-directional IR control between source- and display-side devices, and RS-232 is supported for integration with control systems. Gefen Bi-Directional POL (Power Over Line) allows only one unit to require external power when desired.
Typical applications include digital signage, conference rooms, lecture halls, and distributed AV systems where the source and display are separated by long cable runs. The product is suited for professional AV integrators needing reliable 4K extension with full audio pass-through and remote control capability. It is not compatible with HDR or 4K 600 MHz 4:4:4 sources so system requirements should be verified prior to deployment.
Installation is straightforward – small surface-mountable enclosures can be hidden or mounted near equipment racks or displays. Shielded cabling and separation from power lines are recommended to maintain signal integrity. Advanced EDID management and status LEDs aid integration and troubleshooting making the GTB-UHD-HBTL practical for both new installs and retrofit projects.
