The GefenToolBox 4×1 HDMI 4Kx2K Switcher is a compact switcher designed to route up to four HDMI sources to a single Ultra HD display. It supports resolutions up to 3840×2160@30Hz and preserves HDCP compliance for protected content. This unit is engineered for reliable signal management in AV installations where space and simplicity are priorities.
The switcher supports 12-bit Deep Color, 3D pass-through, lip sync pass-through, and lossless audio formats including LPCM 7.1, Dolby TrueHD, and DTS-HD Master Audio. Front-panel push-button control, IR remote, RS-232 serial, and IP control via Telnet/UDP or the built-in web server provide multiple, flexible control options. LED indicators on the top panel show the active input for quick status confirmation.
Performance is maintained by a 300 MHz maximum pixel clock and locking HDMI connectors to secure cable connections. The unit handles Full HD 1080p sources as well as Ultra HD 4Kx2K signals at 30Hz without downscaling. Power consumption is rated at 13 Watts maximum and the switcher uses a 5V DC locking power supply for stable operation.
Connectivity includes four locking Type A HDMI inputs, one locking Type A HDMI output, a Mini-B USB port for firmware updates, an RS-232 DB-9 port for automation, and an RJ-45 Ethernet port for IP control. An IR sensor and an IR extender jack enable remote control when the unit is concealed. HDMI-to-DVI adapters can be used for legacy DVI sources or displays.
Typical applications include home theaters, retail displays, sports bars, education facilities, museums, hospitals, and hotel lobbies where multiple HDMI sources must be presented on a single Ultra HD screen. The compact surface-mountable enclosure and locking power connector make it suitable for both visible and hidden installations. It supports HDCP-compliant playback for protected Ultra HD content in public and commercial environments.
Installation is straightforward – connect sources to inputs and the display to the output, attach Ethernet or RS-232 for remote control if required, and apply the included locking 5V power supply. Field-upgradeable firmware via Mini-USB or IP keeps the device current with protocol updates. The solidly built, lightweight chassis is available in black or white to fit a variety of installation aesthetics.
