The GefenToolBox High Definition 1080p Scaler is a compact HDMI video scaler designed to output a single HDMI source at up to 1080p Full HD. It lets integrators bypass a display’s internal scaler by providing a native 1080p output for improved image fidelity. The unit also supports Deep Color and common high-definition audio formats.
The scaler provides manual upscaling and downscaling for all resolutions up to 1080p and supports DVI-D sources via adapters. It includes an Advanced Color Engine to enhance contrast, skin tones, and edge detail. The device performs frame rate conversion and supports auto 3:2 and 2:2 pull-down detection and recovery.
Key performance metrics include a maximum pixel clock of 225 MHz and standard HDMI input/output signal levels of 1.2 V p-p for video and 5 V p-p (TTL) for DDC. The scaler supports Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio, Dolby Digital, DTS Digital Surround, and up to 8-channel LPCM via HDMI. It also provides S/PDIF and TOSLINK pass-through for legacy audio systems.
Connectivity includes one HDMI input and one HDMI output (Type A 19-pin female), one TOSLINK optical input and output, and one digital coaxial S/PDIF input and output. Control and integration options include an IR extender jack and an RS-232 DB-9 port for external control and automation. The unit accepts a 5 V DC locking power supply for secure installation.
