Description
The FiDO-R-ST is a single-channel single-mode ST fiber to 3G-SDI receiver designed for reliable long-distance video delivery. It converts optical SMPTE-297 fiber signals to dual matching 3G/HD/SD-SDI outputs and supports cable runs up to 10 km. The receiver provides electrical isolation to help eliminate ground loop issues on complex installations.
This compact unit offers dual, matching SDI outputs and automatic reclocking for standard SDI rates up to 3 Gbps. It accepts a simplex ST fiber connection and supports video formats from 150 Mbps to 3 Gbps. The device also includes a universal power supply that accepts 5-20 VDC for flexible powering options.
Optical performance is specified with a nominal wavelength range of 1260 – 1620 nm and an optical sensitivity down to -18 dBm. Overload power threshold is specified at -3 dBm minimum. Reclocking is automatic for common SD/HD/3G rates and other rates are passed through without reclocking.
Connectivity is straightforward with a single ST fiber input and dual BNC SDI outputs compliant with SMPTE-259/292/424. The unit supports standard SMPTE SDI signaling and fits into tight spaces behind racks or on camera rigs due to its low-profile enclosure. A locking power connector reduces accidental disconnects in the field.
Typical applications include long-distance camera links, OB vans, broadcast facility fiber runs, and any installation requiring galvanic isolation between locations. The small footprint makes the FiDO-R-ST convenient for rack, monitor, or camera-mounted use. Optional P-TAP power cables allow battery operation when AC power is unavailable.
