The FIDO-4R-ST-R0 is a 4-channel single-mode ST fiber to 3G-SDI receiver designed to convert long-distance fiber signals into standard SDI outputs. It supports 3G/HD/SD-SDI formats and provides electrical isolation to eliminate ground loop issues. The compact low-profile enclosure is built for tight rack, truck, and camera installations.
The receiver accepts four independent simplex ST fiber inputs and provides four independent 3G-SDI BNC outputs. It supports video rates from 150 Mbps up to 3 Gbps and reclocks common SDI rates automatically. The design also supports 4K/UltraHD over four separate fiber links when paired with compatible transmitters.
Optical performance includes a nominal wavelength range of 1260 – 1620 nm, an optical sensitivity down to -18 dBm, and an overload threshold of -3 dBm. Reclocking is available for 270 Mbps, 1.483 Gbps, 1.485 Gbps, 2.966 Gbps, and 2.970 Gbps while other rates are passed through without reclocking. Power consumption is low at a maximum of 5 watts.
Connectivity is straightforward with four ST fiber inputs and four BNC SDI outputs that comply with SMPTE-297 and SMPTE-259/292/424 standards. The unit uses 5-20 VDC input and ships with a universal power supply for global use. A locking power connector and optional P-TAP cable support battery or field power requirements.
Typical applications include long-haul camera links, OB trucks, remote broadcast sites, and studio-to-transmitter fiber runs where ground isolation and signal integrity are critical.
