The FC-18 is an HDMI display ON/OFF controller designed to manage 4K@60Hz (4:4:4) HDR video connections. It monitors an HDMI source and automatically sends power ON and OFF commands to displays or projectors based on signal presence. The unit reclocks and equalizes HDMI signals to maintain signal integrity between source and display.
Key features include automatic display power control, manual control options, and support for modern HDMI standards. The FC-18 supports HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2/1.4 so it works with contemporary 4K HDR sources. It also offers control over CEC, RS-232, Ethernet and contact-closure interfaces.
On the performance side the FC-18 supports 18G total bandwidth (6G per channel) enabling 4K60 4:4:4 operation and HDR metadata transport. The device performs HDMI reclocking and equalization to reduce signal degradation over short runs. It reacts to the presence or loss of an input signal by issuing ON or OFF commands to the connected display.
Connectivity includes HDMI input and HDMI output along with RS-232 and Ethernet control ports and contact-closure inputs. The unit supports data tunneling between RS-232 and Ethernet to assist integration with control systems. CEC control is available for displays that support HDMI-CEC commands.
The FC-18 is suited to meeting rooms, classrooms, digital signage and boardrooms where automatic display power management reduces energy use and simplifies start-up. It eliminates the need for manual power-button searches and can be combined with external control systems for scheduled or remote display control. The controller helps lower power costs by shutting displays down when no HDMI source is present.
Installation is straightforward thanks to a compact fan-less DigiTOOLS enclosure that supports surface mounting or side-by-side mounting of three units in a 1U rack with the recommended adapter. The front panel provides manual ON/OFF control and status indication for quick troubleshooting. The enclosure and control options provide dependable operation in typical AV environments.
