The FA10BM-4 Audio Diode is a compact security appliance that enforces unidirectional audio from a host USB source to an analog audio device. It is designed to prevent audio-data leakage by allowing only output audio flow and blocking any inbound audio signals. This protects against covert microphone emulation attacks and data exfiltration over audio channels.
The device integrates an audio diode topology and a low-pass filter that limits passed frequencies to the human-audible range. Microphone support is enabled while the hardware prevents headsets or speakers from being repurposed as input devices. The unit includes push-button controls to disable audio access when a user is away.
Physically the FA10BM-4 measures 85 x 65 x 34 mm and weighs 185 grams, providing a small desktop footprint.
