Description
The EXT3-H-T is an HDBaseT 3.0 transmitter designed to extend HDMI, RS-232 and IR signals over twisted-pair copper cabling. It converts a source HDMI signal and delivers it over HDBaseT to a remote receiver, preserving video and control signal integrity. The unit supports HDR and HDCP 2.3 to maintain modern content protection and image quality.
The transmitter supports native 4K@60Hz 4:4:4 color sampling and complies with HDMI 2.0b features such as deep color, x.v.Color and lip sync. It carries up to 18Gbps bandwidth and supports up to 32 channels of digital audio including Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD. Bidirectional RS-232 and IR channels allow remote device control and serial data exchange without additional configuration.
Performance is optimized for low latency and uncompressed transmission over Kramer copper CAT cables, with a standard range of up to 40m (130ft) at 4K@60Hz 4:4:4. A high-compression mode extends reach up to 70m (230ft) at 4K@30Hz or 1080p@60Hz. The transmitter passes EDID and CEC signals end-to-end to preserve source/display communication and behavior.
Connectivity includes one HDMI input on a female HDMI connector, a HDBaseT 3.0 output, one RS-232 port on a 3-pin terminal block and a 3.5mm IR jack. The unit is compatible with standard HDBaseT-compliant extenders and common AV infrastructure. Status LEDs for HDMI and HDBaseT ports simplify local troubleshooting and maintenance.
Typical applications include conference rooms, boardrooms, control rooms, hotels and large houses of worship where reliable long-distance HDMI extension is required. The EXT3-H-T is also ideal as a transmit-end unit when integrating Kramer’s matrixes and switchers that include HDBaseT 3.0 receive ports. It supports multi-channel audio and professional surround formats for high-quality AV installations.
Installation is straightforward thanks to the compact DigiTOOLS fan-less enclosure, dropped-ceiling mounting capability and side-by-side 1U rack mounting with an optional adapter. Local firmware upgrades via RS-232 and robust aluminum construction contribute to dependable long-term operation. The unit is powered by a 12V DC supply and features convection cooling for silent use.
