Description
The EXT3-H-POE-T is an HDBaseT 3.0 transmitter that extends uncompressed 4K60 4:4:4 HDR HDMI signals together with RS-232 and IR control over twisted pair copper cabling. It is designed to carry HDMI video, multi-channel audio, and bidirectional control to a remote receiver with near-zero latency. The unit supports PoE operation for simplified power provisioning.
Key capabilities include support for HDMI 2.0b features such as deep color, x.v.Color, lip sync, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD audio, and HDCP 2.3 compliance. The transmitter provides up to 18 Gbps bandwidth and passes EDID and CEC between source and display. Bidirectional RS-232 and IR channels enable remote device control and integration into AV control systems.
Performance is optimized for long-reach AV extension using recommended Kramer copper cables – standard compression supports up to 40m (130ft) at 4K@60Hz 4:4:4 and high compression extends reach to 70m (230ft) for 4K@30Hz 4:4:4 or full HD 1080p@60Hz. The unit supports up to 32 channels of uncompressed digital audio for studio-grade surround formats. Transmission is uncompressed and maintains near-zero latency to preserve AV sync and quality.
Connectivity includes one HDMI input on a female HDMI connector, an HDBaseT 3.0 output port, a 3-pin terminal block RS-232 port, and a 3.5mm IR jack. The transmitter is compatible with standard HDBaseT-compliant extenders and integrates with Kramer matrixes and switchers that include HDBaseT 3.0 receive ports. Status LEDs and DIP-switch controls simplify local configuration and troubleshooting.
Typical applications include 4K@60Hz AV extension in conference rooms, boardrooms, control rooms, hotels, and large houses of worship where high-resolution video and centralized control are required. The EXT3-H-POE-T is also suitable as a transmit-end device in matrix and switching systems. It supports professional audio formats and long-distance cabling topologies commonly used in commercial AV installations.
Installation is straightforward with a compact DigiTOOLS aluminum enclosure that supports dropped-ceiling mounting or side-by-side 3-unit 1U rack mounting using the recommended adapter. The fanless design uses convection cooling and includes LED indicators for HDMI and HDBaseT link status. Local firmware upgrades via RS-232 and included power accessories ensure maintainable field deployment and long-term operation.
