Description

The EXT-VGA-DVI-SC is a compact VGA to DVI scaler and converter designed to adapt analog computer video for digital displays. It accepts VGA input and outputs DVI digital video scaled to Full HD 1080p60 or up to 1920 x 1200 WUXGA. The unit includes an intuitive on-screen display – allowing quick setup and image adjustments.

Key features include scaling up to 1080p60 and native support for 1920 x 1200 input timings. The on-screen display provides aspect ratio control options including Full Screen, Panoramic, Letter/Pillar and Extract/Crop. A built-in test pattern generator and dedicated OSD navigation buttons simplify system configuration and verification.

Performance specifications include a maximum pixel clock of 165 MHz and a maximum TMDS clock of 165 MHz to support high-resolution timings. The scaler consumes a maximum of 2W and operates from a wide 6V to 24V DC input range, with a nominal 12V DC supply. Thermal and environmental ranges cover typical AV install conditions with operating temperature 0 to 50 C and non-condensing humidity up to 90% RH.

Connectivity is straightforward via a single VGA HD-15 input and a single DVI-I 29-pin female output (digital only). A USB Mini-B port provides integration with Gefen Syner-G software for firmware updates and advanced EDID management. A locking 3-pin power connector and blue power LED improve reliability in installed systems.

The unit is surface-mountable and features a small footprint for rack, wall or equipment-bay installations. Typical applications include presentation rooms, classrooms, control rooms and studio monitors where legacy VGA sources must feed modern DVI displays. Setup is driven through the OSD and front-panel tact switches for fast field deployment.
