The EXT-UHD600-12 is a compact 1×2 HDMI splitter engineered to distribute Ultra HD video across two displays while preserving full color fidelity. It is designed for systems that require 4K60Hz 4:4:4 color and HDR support, ensuring source image integrity at each endpoint. The unit supports both HDCP 2.2 and legacy HDCP 1.4 for content protection compatibility.
Key capabilities include support for DCI 4K (4096 x 2160@60Hz 4:4:4) and Ultra HD 3840 x 2160@60Hz 4:4:4, HDR handling, and a 600 MHz maximum pixel clock. Audio support covers uncompressed LPCM up to 7.1 channels and High Bit Rate formats such as Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD, DTS:X and DTS-HD Master Audio. The splitter also provides EDID and audio mode control for faster integration with sources and displays.
Performance is driven by a 600 MHz pixel clock that keeps chroma subsampling from reducing color detail at high resolutions and frame rates. The unit supports 10-bit HDR at 4K60 4:2:0 and 4K24 4:4:4 as well as 12-bit deep color at 1080p60 4:4:4. Cascading capability allows deployment across multiple layers – typically up to 10 layers without HDR and up to 6 layers with HDR – for large distribution systems.
Connectivity includes one locking HDMI Type A input and two locking HDMI Type A outputs, along with a USB mini-B port for EDID and HDCP management via the Gefen Syner-G software. Long Reach Power (LRP) supplies 5V at 500 mA on pin 18 of HDMI outputs 1 and 2 to power select extender devices. The device also supports HDMI-to-DVI displays up to Full HD and WUXGA via adapters.
This splitter is suitable for digital signage, corporate AV, education, and broadcast distribution where consistent 4K HDR imagery and full audio formats are required. It can be cascaded to feed many displays in a signage matrix or deployed as a simple dual-output distribution device in meeting rooms and control spaces. Its support for HDCP2.2 ensures compatibility with modern Ultra HD content sources.
Installation is straightforward thanks to a low-profile surface-mountable metal enclosure, locking HDMI connectors, a locking DC power connector, and LED status indicators for input, outputs, and EDID/audio modes. In-field firmware updates and advanced EDID control via USB make system maintenance and configuration simple.
