The EXT-UHD-LANS-TX is a 4K Ultra HD HDMI over IP transmitter designed to send HDMI sources across a standard Gigabit Local Area Network. It supports HDR and HDCP 2.2/1.4 to preserve high dynamic range and content protection. This listing is for the transmitter only and is intended for integration into Gefen AV-over-IP systems.
The transmitter accepts HDMI inputs up to 4K 60 Hz 4:2:0 and supports advanced audio passthrough including LPCM and High Bit Rate formats up to 7.1 channels. Networked distribution is powered by PoE (802.3af) so external power is optional when used with a PoE-enabled switch. The unit also provides RS-232, IR, and analog audio connections for control and audio routing.
Performance specifics include input support for 4K 60 Hz 4:2:0 and downstream compatibility to 4K 30 Hz 4:4:4 depending on receiver capabilities. The transmitter honors HDCP 2.2 and 1.4 and preserves HDR metadata through the network. Cable runs from a sender to a receiver or to the network switch can reach up to 100 meters (330 ft) over Cat5e/Cat6 infrastructure.
Connectivity includes one HDMI Type A input, one RJ-45 Ethernet port with PoE, RS-232 and IR ports, and a 3.5mm line input. The transmitter is compatible with Gefen Syner-G discovery and can be managed via the built-in web interface, Telnet, UDP, or through Gefen control software and third-party controllers using Gefen’s Enhanced API. It is backward-compatible with first generation Gefen AV over IP products.
Typical applications include digital signage networks, boardrooms, classrooms, command centers, and retail installations where centralized source distribution and remote control are required. The transmitter functions as a node in a virtual matrix environment allowing any source to be routed to any display when paired with receivers and a managed IP switch. It supports scalable deployments and can operate alongside Gefen matrix controllers for automated configuration and mass firmware updates.
Installation is straightforward: the low-profile half-rack enclosure can be rack-mounted or surface-mounted using included brackets and uses locking power connectors for reliable connections.
