The Gefen EXT-UHD-LANS-RX is a 4K Ultra HD HDMI over IP receiver designed to deliver high-quality video and multi-channel audio across Ethernet networks. It accepts HDMI video streams transmitted over IP and outputs a compliant HDMI signal for displays. The unit supports HDR and modern content protection standards to preserve picture quality and security.
Key features include HDR support, HDCP 2.2 and 1.4 compatibility, Deep Color, and Lip-Sync correction to maintain audio/video alignment. The receiver supports uncompressed LPCM up to 7.1 channels and high bit rate audio formats up to 7.1 channels including Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD, DTS:X and DTS-HD Master Audio. An integrated scaler and video wall controller provide flexible presentation and display layout options.
Performance specifications include high-resolution 4K Ultra HD support and handling of deep color and HDR metadata to deliver accurate color and contrast. The receiver includes a built-in audio de-embedder that breaks out 2-channel analog, 2-channel PCM and up to 5.1-channel bitstream audio for external amplifiers and distribution. Latency and bandwidth behavior are optimized for AV-over-IP workflows and enterprise network deployment.
Connectivity is comprehensive with HDMI input/output locking connectors, optical TOSLINK digital audio output, 3.5mm analog in/out, RS-232 control, IR in/out and dual RJ-45 Ethernet ports including PoE support. One Ethernet port provides Power-over-Ethernet (802.3af) and the receiver also includes a two-port Gigabit Ethernet switch for streamlined cabling. Control options include a built-in web interface, Telnet, UDP and an enhanced API for third-party control systems.
Typical applications include distributed AV in corporate boardrooms, digital signage networks, education campuses, and control rooms where centralized sources need to be delivered to remote displays. Video walls up to 16×16 can be created using the built-in controller and displays can be scaled to match source content. The device is suitable for installations that require audio extraction for integration with existing PA or multiroom audio systems.
Installation is simplified by PoE power option, locking power connectors, and low-profile half-rack enclosures that can be rack-mounted or surface-mounted using included brackets. Firmware updates and mass firmware deployment are supported via the Gefen EXT-CU-LAN controller or the web server interface for easier maintenance.
