The EXT-HDVGA-3G-SC is a compact scaler and format converter that accepts HDMI or VGA video plus analog stereo audio and outputs SDI formats up to 3G-SDI. It is designed to convert and scale signals to single link HD-SDI and 3G-SDI while embedding audio into the SDI stream. The unit targets installations that require reliable HDMI or computer signal integration into SDI-based workflows.
Key features include input selection between HDMI and VGA, on-screen display setup, selectable aspect ratio modes, and an integrated test pattern generator for quick system setup. The converter supports input resolutions to 1920 x 1200 (WUXGA) and 1080p60 and outputs up to 1080p60. Audio handling supports LPCM 7.1 over HDMI and 2-channel analog embedding for VGA inputs.
Performance details include maximum pixel clocks of 165 MHz for HDMI/VGA inputs and 150 MHz for SDI output, plus a maximum TMDS clock of 225 MHz. The device scales video to produce clean 1080p60 SDI output while preserving timing and color integrity. MTBF and environmental ratings support deployment in studio and mobile production environments.
Connectivity covers a locking HDMI Type A input, a VGA HD-15 input, a 3.5mm analog stereo audio input, a BNC SDI output, and a USB mini-B port for configuration. The unit integrates with Gefen Syner-G software for EDID management and firmware updates. Status LEDs and an intuitive OSD make source selection and configuration straightforward.
