The EXT-HD-CP-FM10 is an HDMI fiber optic pigtail module extender designed to carry Full HD video and lossless audio over long distances. It uses a single-strand 50/125µm multimode OM2 SC-terminated fiber connection to extend HDMI up to 1000ft (300m). The compact Sender and Receiver pigtail modules provide galvanic isolation and immunity to electromagnetic interference for reliable signal delivery.
The system supports resolutions up to 1080p and passes HD lossless audio formats including LPCM 7.1 audio, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, and DTS-HD Master Audio. It also provides 3DTV pass-through, Deep Color support, DDC bidirectional communication, and HDCP pass-through for protected content. Fiber transmission eliminates common copper limitations and reduces EMI/RFI issues in challenging environments.
Performance is specified with a maximum pixel clock of 225 MHz and dependable optical transmission over single-strand OM2 fiber. The Receiver is powered by a 5V DC supply and draws up to 1.5W; the Sender typically uses source-supplied HDMI power and requires 5V DC only when the source cannot provide enough power. Operating conditions range from 0 to 50 C with storage from -20 to 70 C and relative humidity between 10% and 80%.
Connectivity is simple: the Sender plugs into the HDMI source and the Receiver plugs into the display, with an SC-terminated multimode OM2 fiber linking the two modules. Both modules use HDMI Type-A 19-pin connectors for video I/O and an SC fiber connector for the optical link. The pigtail design relieves stress on equipment panels and allows neat installations behind racks or displays.
This HDMI fiber extender is suitable for digital signage, corporate AV, broadcast monitoring, and any installation requiring long HDMI runs with clean signal integrity. It is also applicable where galvanic isolation is required to avoid ground loops or where EMI is a concern, such as near broadcast or industrial equipment. The compact form factor makes it practical for retrofit projects and space-constrained installs.
Installation is straightforward and requires minimal configuration – plug the Sender into the source, the Receiver into the display, connect the SC fiber link, and power the Receiver.
