The EXP-SP-0102-8K is a compact 1×2 HDMI splitter designed to distribute HDMI 2.1 signals to two displays while preserving advanced video and audio features. It accepts full bandwidth HDMI inputs and can output uncompressed 8K@60Hz or 4K@120Hz to connected displays. The unit is engineered for simple plug-and-play installation while meeting modern AV distribution requirements.
Key capabilities include full FRL support up to 40Gbps and DSC 1.2a pass-through for super-high bandwidth signals. One output can mirror the source at full resolution while the second output can downscale 8K to 4K or 4K to 1080p, enabling mixed-resolution deployments. EDID management is provided via five DIP-switch selectable EDIDs plus Smart EDID auto-negotiation for display compatibility.
Video performance supports TMDS and FRL modes with maximum data rates of 18Gbps (TMDS) and 40Gbps (FRL), and a broad range of resolutions including 8K60Hz 4:2:0 10-bit and 4K120Hz 4:4:4 10-bit. The splitter supports HDR formats including Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HLG and PQ and color spaces such as BT.2020 and BT.2100. Latency is effectively zero for end-to-end signal transmission.
Audio support includes ARC pass-through, 2ch PCM, multichannel LPCM, DTS-X and Dolby Atmos with sampling rates up to 192kHz and up to 32 channels. The unit provides S/PDIF de-embedded audio output for integration with audio systems or recorders. HDCP 2.3 compliance ensures secure content distribution for protected sources.
Connectivity is straightforward with one HDMI input and two HDMI outputs using 19-pin Type A connectors. The splitter is compatible with passive HDMI 2.1 cables for short runs and active optical HDMI 2.1 cables for longer runs. Control features include EDID DIP switches and Smart EDID which automatically negotiates optimal settings with connected displays.
Engineered for retrofit and mixed-display environments, the EXP-SP-0102-8K enables incremental upgrades without replacing existing displays. The compact chassis and low power draw make it suitable for rack shelves, AV cabinets, or discrete installs.
