The EX3-100-eARC is an HDBaseT 3.0 HDMI extender designed to transmit 18Gbps A/V signals up to 100m over Cat6a/7 cabling. It supports 4K HDR and Dolby Vision at 60Hz with 4:4:4 color sampling, preserving high-bandwidth video for demanding displays. The unit also provides eARC support to return native high-bitrate audio from a display to an AVR or soundbar.
Key features include native HDMI 2.0 support, eARC compatibility for Dolby Atmos and DTS-HD Master Audio formats, and a looped HDMI output on the transmitter for local monitoring. The extender supports bi-directional control passthrough including IR, RS-232 and LAN for remote device control. Power over HDBaseT (PoH) is supported in both directions to simplify installations.
Video performance extends to 3840×2160 @ 60Hz 4:4:4 12bit including HDR10 and Dolby Vision, with a maximum pixel clock of 600MHz and an encoding data rate of 10.2Gbps. End-to-end latency is negligible at 10 microseconds, making the system suitable for synchronized audio and video playback. Cable distance is 100m over Cat6a/7 and up to 70m over Cat6 for 4K signals.
Connectivity is comprehensive with a transmitter HDMI input, HDMI loop-out and HDBaseT output, while the receiver provides an HDBaseT input and HDMI output. Optical audio I/O is included on both ends and the receiver supports an optical input. Ethernet passthrough supports up to 1Gb to carry network traffic across the link.
The EX3-100-eARC is appropriate for digital signage, boardrooms, auditoriums and residential AV installations that require long-distance 4K distribution and return audio capability. It allows integrators to place a TV remotely while routing high-bitrate audio back to a central AVR or soundbar. Control passthrough options make it easy to manage devices at either end of the link.
Installation is straightforward with compact metal enclosures and included mounting ears for rack or under-table placement. PoH reduces the need for local power at one end, while EDID and HDCP 2.2 support simplify interoperability with UHD sources and displays.
