The EX-100-KVM is an HDBaseT 2.0 HDMI and USB extender kit designed to transport uncompressed 4K and 1080p HDMI video plus USB 2.0 data over a single structured cable. It pairs a transmitter and receiver to extend signals up to 100m over Cat6/6a/7 and supports Power over HDBaseT to simplify deployment. The unit is engineered for KVM use and AV systems that require long-reach video, audio extraction, and device control.
This extender transmits HDMI 1.4 video at up to 4K@60Hz 4:2:0 8bit and supports HDCP 2.2 for protected content. USB 2.0 pass-through is provided at high speed up to 190Mbps to enable peripheral and KVM control. Additional capabilities include analog audio de-embedding, line-level pass-through, bidirectional RS232, and CEC support.
Technical performance includes a maximum pixel clock of 340MHz and compatibility with multi-channel HDMI audio formats such as PCM 2.0/5.1/7.1, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Atmos, DTS-HD Master Audio and DTS:X. The extender maintains signal integrity to 100m on Cat6/6A/7 for 4K@60Hz 4:2:0 and to 100m on Cat5e for 1080p@60Hz. Power input is DC 12V/3A and typical power consumption is 19W.
Connectivity is comprehensive on both ends – the transmitter offers HDMI input, HDBT out, RS232, analog audio in/out and a USB host port while the receiver provides HDBT in, HDMI out, RS232, two analog audio outputs (de-embed and pass-through), four USB device ports and DC power input. The receiver’s audio de-embed option allows stereo extraction for local audio systems and the USB ports enable keyboards, mice and other HID devices to be used remotely. The extender supports HDBaseT 2.0 signaling and standard RJ45 structured cabling for compatibility with existing infrastructure.
This kit is suited to conference rooms, control centers, lecture halls and remote workstation setups where centralized computers or media players must be controlled from a distance. It enables remote KVM control, local audio extraction and centralized device management in pro AV installations. The combination of HDMI, USB 2.0 and control interfaces supports common AV workflows in corporate, education and government environments.
Installation is streamlined by PoH which can power the receiver or transmitter over the HDBaseT link and by the included mounting brackets for rack or surface attachment. The units operate across a 0 C to 45 C range and incorporate ESD protection to improve reliability in managed AV environments. Regulatory certifications include CE, FCC, RoHS, RCM, EAC and UKCA which support international deployments.
