Description
The EVF-1152D/43-FGW is a fully weatherized two-way point-source loudspeaker engineered for long-throw coverage and reliable outdoor operation. It combines a 15 inch low-frequency transducer and a 3 inch titanium compression driver on a rotatable 40 x 30 constant-directivity waveguide. The enclosure and hardware are built to withstand direct exposure to sun, rain, fog and snow while maintaining audio clarity.
Key features include a rotatable 40 degree by 30 degree waveguide, a high-output DH7N 3 inch titanium compression driver and a FEA-optimized 15 inch low-frequency transducer. The integrated crossover uses steep 24 dB per octave slopes with equalization and an acoustic crossover at 1300 Hz for smooth vocal-range response. A dynamic protection circuit provides independent thermal protection for each driver to preserve long-term reliability.
Performance targets are high sensitivity and high SPL capability. The system provides a measured sensitivity of 97 dB and a calculated maximum SPL of 131 dB at 1 meter. Frequency response extends to the low end and remains controlled for intelligibility across the range – typical responses and deviation values are engineered for minimal coloration and consistent off-axis response.
Connectivity is provided via a Phoenix-style input panel accepting up to 10 AWG, with options for dual NL4 gland-nut covers or a sealed gland-nut panel for weatherized installations. An externally accessible jumper selects passive or active operation and a 70.7/100 V transformer kit can be mounted to the input panel for distributed systems. These options allow rapid integration into both low-impedance and constant-voltage systems.
The EVF-1152D/43-FGW is intended for fixed install and exposed outdoor venues where long throw and precise coverage are required. It can be combined in vertical or horizontal arrays with other EVF and EVH series loudspeakers, and offers seven horn patterns across the family to tailor coverage. Typical applications include façade reinforcement, outdoor plazas, theme parks and distributed stadium fill.
Installation is eased by a compact trapezoidal enclosure constructed from 13-ply birch plywood with a fiberglass finish and stainless-steel grille. The cabinet includes multiple M10 suspension points and optional flying hardware for flown arrays or secure fixed-mount installations. Environmental ratings and materials are specified to reduce corrosion and ingress during prolonged exposure.
In summary, the EVF-1152D/43-FGW delivers a long-throw, weatherized two-way solution with rotatable directivity, high power handling and robust environmental protection. The combination of optimized drivers, steep crossover slopes and thermal protection supports high intelligibility at elevated SPL. This model reduces system count by offering flexible connectivity and arraying options across EVF/EVH product families.
