The ECW160 is a cloud managed outdoor wireless access point designed to deliver concurrent dual-band Wi-Fi connectivity in harsh environments. It supports 802.11ac Wave2 performance and MU-MIMO to serve multiple clients efficiently. The unit is IP67 rated for dust and water resistance to withstand outdoor deployments.
This AP provides dual-radio 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz operation with maximum wireless data rates up to 400 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and 867 Mbps on 5 GHz. Key features include MU-MIMO, transmit beamforming, VHT80 support on 5 GHz and VHT40 on 2.4 GHz to increase throughput and client capacity. The enclosure supports detachable external omnidirectional antennas and a Gigabit Ethernet PoE port for flexible mounting.
Technically, the ECW160 implements 2×2:2 radio chains and supports SU-MIMO and MU-MIMO spatial streams. Transmit power reaches up to 23 dBm per band and channelization supports VHT20/40/80 MHz on 802.11ac and HT20/40 MHz on 802.11n. Modulation formats include up to 256-QAM for higher data rates and packet aggregation options such as AMPDU and ASPDU are supported.
Connectivity options include a single 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet port with 802.3af/at PoE compatibility or proprietary 54 V Active Ethernet. The AP supports 8 SSIDs per radio, 802.1q VLAN tagging, management VLANs, and RADIUS based enterprise authentication. Management is via EnGenius Cloud plus standard SNMP and SSH tunnel options for secure administration.
The ECW160 is suited to outdoor Wi-Fi coverage, guest access, campus connectivity, and temporary event networks where weatherproofing and cloud management are required. It supports WPA2/WPA3 security modes, OWE, and enterprise suite B options to meet modern security requirements. Multiple SSIDs and client isolation features allow segmentation for public and private networks.
Installation is simplified by PoE power and included pole and wall mounting hardware, plus detachable SMA antennas for alignment and replacement. The IP67-rated housing and operating temperature range from -20C to 60C provide resilience in varied climates. Firmware updates and cloud provisioning streamline deployment and ongoing maintenance.
