The ECS2528FP is a cloud-managed Layer 2+ multi-gigabit switch designed to power and manage IP cameras, VoIP phones and access points. It delivers 24 PoE+ ports and a 410W total PoE budget to support dense surveillance and access deployments. The switch provides centralized configuration, monitoring and diagnostics via EnGenius Cloud and local management interfaces.
Key features include 16 gigabit ports and 8 2.5Gbps ports, plus four 10Gb SFP+ uplinks for high-speed aggregation and fiber connectivity. The unit supports extended PoE mode to extend powered device reach up to 250 meters, PD Lifeguard for automatic PoE reboot of failed cameras, and continuous PoE power to maintain camera operation during firmware or hardware upgrades. These features improve uptime and simplify field maintenance.
Under the hood the ECS2528FP offers a 152 Gbps switching capacity, 512 MB SDRAM and 128 MB flash memory for stable operation and advanced switching features. Layer 2+ functions such as VLAN tagging, IGMP/MLD snooping, ACLs and link aggregation are supported along with IPv4/IPv6 static routing capabilities. QoS supports eight priority queues with strict and WRR scheduling to ensure traffic prioritization.
Connectivity is extensive with 16 10/100/1000 Mbps ports, eight 100/1000/2500 Mbps ports and four SFP+ slots for fiber uplinks. All RJ45 ports provide 802.3af/at PoE and the device accepts 100 to 240 VAC power input. Management options include EnGenius Cloud, ezMaster/SkyKey, a local web GUI, CLI, SNMP and RMON support for enterprise monitoring and automation.
Typical applications include IP surveillance edge switching, enterprise wireless AP aggregation, and VoIP deployments where centralized PoE management and uptime are critical. The extended PoE and PD lifeguard functions help in installations with long cable runs or remote-mounted cameras. The switch suits rack-mounted network closets and integrated fiber backbones where 10Gb uplinks are required.
Installation is straightforward with a 1U rack profile, standard rack mount kit and front panel LEDs for power, fault, PoE status and link/activity. The metal chassis is engineered for continuous operation in commercial environments and the unit is backed by a two year warranty. Firmware updates, SNTP time sync and syslog support assist IT teams with lifecycle management and troubleshooting.
