The DVR-704MSG-V5-1TB is a rugged mobile digital video recorder designed to capture and archive vehicle-based video streams. It provides four HD-AVS video inputs optimized for real-time surveillance in demanding transport and maritime environments. The unit combines mobile-grade mechanical design with enterprise-class recording to secure evidence and operational telemetry.
This recorder supports two 1080P channels plus two 720P channels in real-time and uses H.264E compression to reduce bandwidth and storage requirements. Integrated GPS records positioning coordinates and ground speed that are overlaid on recorded video for accurate route and event reconstruction. Onboard 3G cellular and Ethernet connectivity enable live view, search, playback, backup, and configuration from remote locations.
The DVR runs an embedded Linux operating system on an embedded mocroprocessor for stable continuous operation. Local outputs include 1 VGA and 2 TV interfaces with 800 x 600 VGA resolution and configurable OSD fields such as camera title, time, video loss, camera lock, motion detection, and recording indicators. Video bit rate is adjustable from 48 to 8,192Kb/s and motion detection supports MD zones up to 396 (22 x 18).
Audio is handled with G711 compression and includes one-channel input and one-channel output for two-way talk capability. Recording modes include Manual, Schedule (Regular/Continuous, MD, Alarm) and Stop, and file control supports pre-record (1 to 30 sec) and post-record (10 to 300 sec) intervals with record intervals from 1 to 120 minutes. Trigger events cover recording, PTZ, tour, alarm, email, FTP, buzzer, and on-screen tips.
Built for fleet use, the device is vibration-dampened and designed to accept a laptop-grade HDD in a lockable cradle so drives can be removed for secure evidence handling. Typical applications include delivery fleets, school buses, taxis, police vehicles, and marine vessels where GPS logging and ruggedized recording are required. The unit is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and Android smartphone clients for field monitoring.
Installation is simplified by the compact mobile chassis and standard interfaces for power, GPS, 3G cellular antenna, and Ethernet. The embedded design emphasizes reliability for continuous mobile operation and remote management capabilities reduce the need for physical access for configuration and data retrieval.
