Description
The DS-RCS4 is a compact 4-channel remote source selector designed to provide source selection and clear visual indication from one or multiple remote locations. It pairs directly with compatible RDL control modules to send momentary stepping signals and to display the currently selected input. The panel is finished in stainless steel and sized for standard US electrical boxes.
The panel features a momentary pushbutton that advances the source selection sequentially when connected to RDL modules such as the RU-SX4A. Visual feedback is provided by five LEDs – one green for each of the four channels and one red to indicate no channel selected. The control logic mutes audio during stepping to avoid bursts of sound when switching sources.
Technically, the DS-RCS4 provides an SEL output that supplies 15 Vdc at 5 mA when the pushbutton is actuated. LED inputs are ground-referenced and accept direct connection from RDL selector modules for reliable indication. The panel itself requires a ground-referenced 24 Vdc supply drawing approximately 25 mA.
Connectivity is via a detachable terminal block for straightforward wiring and serviceability. The unit mounts in a US electrical box or RDL international wall boxes WB-1U and WB-2U, and decorative plates are available separately. Physical dimensions are compact and suitable for shallow wall installations.
Typical applications include broadcast control rooms, fixed-install AV systems, and distributed audio installations where multiple remote control points or visual confirmation of source selection are required. The DS-RCS4 integrates into existing RDL RACK-UP systems to extend control and indication to convenient user locations. It is a reliable option for professional AV environments that require simple, discrete control points.
