Description
The DS-RC2ST is a two-channel remote control designed to select between two audio or video sources or to route audio to two destinations. It features a stainless steel front panel with two momentary pushbuttons and two red LED indicators that show which source is selected. On power-up the unit defaults to source 1 so system state is predictable.
The front panel includes a dedicated pushbutton for each source and an adjacent LED for visual confirmation. Touching the alternate button immediately deselects the current source and selects the other source. The unit uses open-collector outputs that are current limited for safe triggering of downstream modules.
Technically, the unit provides open-collector switching with 25 mA current-limited outputs and requires ground-referenced 24 Vdc power. It operates in ambient environments from -10 C to 55 C and mounts in a standard US electrical box. Connections are made via a detachable terminal block for power and remote outputs.
Connectivity is straightforward: a single shielded pair or 3-conductor cable is sufficient for typical single-output triggering, and both outputs can be used for more complex switching networks. The DS-RC2ST is compatible with RDL modules such as the ST-SSR1 solid-state audio switch, TX-MVX video switcher, and ST-RX2 audio router. The control is also compatible with other RDL remote controls and standard AV wiring practices.
Common applications include selecting between two audio sources in a conferencing room, switching video sources at a lectern, or routing audio feeds to alternate destinations. The tactile pushbutton layout and LED confirmation make it suitable for user-facing wall control where straightforward selection is required. The initial default to source 1 simplifies system startup and predictable behavior.
Installation is simple and professional in appearance – the stainless steel faceplate provides a durable finish and the module mounts in standard US electrical boxes or RDL WB- and SMB-series boxes. The detachable terminal block eases wiring and service access while the compact package reduces enclosure intrusion. For locations preferring ULTRASTYLE wall controls, an alternative RUC-4 Universal Remote Control is available.
