The DCNM-FAI is a flush-mount audio interface designed to integrate third-party microphones and line-level sources into Bosch DCNM systems. It provides a compact interface that accepts microphone and line inputs while supplying a 48 V phantom power rail for condenser microphones. The unit is intended for custom-build AV and conferencing installations where discrete microphone connections are required.
Key features include selectable gain settings, balanced or unbalanced line inputs, and a dedicated 48 V phantom power output. The interface supports microphone and line nominal and maximum input levels across two gain ranges to accommodate different source sensitivities. It also provides control and indication I/O for integration into larger system workflows.
Technically, the unit operates from a 5 V DC supply and draws approximately 0.50 Watt of active power. Nominal and maximum input levels are provided for microphone and line modes across 0 dB and 18 dB settings, and gain selection options include 0, 6, 12, and 18 dB. The phantom output delivers 48 VDC at up to 8 mA and LED indicators operate at 4.5 VDC with a per-color maximum of 10 mA.
Connectivity is straightforward and designed for system integration – the DCNM-FAI accepts balanced microphone and line connections and provides I/O for control and status indication. It interfaces directly with DCNM-FBD2 modules and supports third-party microphones to extend system flexibility. Physical dimensions and mounting profile are optimized for flush installations and OEM enclosures.
Typical applications include conference rooms, council chambers, and custom AV furniture where an external microphone or line source must be integrated into a Bosch DCNM audio network. The device suits installations that require phantom powering for electret or condenser microphones and where small footprint mounting is necessary. Installation is simple and intended for professional integration – the compact housing measures 4.80 in x 3.23 in x 1.10 in and weighs 0.28 lbs, making it easy to mount in panels or custom enclosures. The unit is specified to operate reliably between 41 F and 113 F and in noncondensing relative humidity from 5% to 90%.
