Description
The DB-TPR3A is a single-module Format-A twisted-pair audio receiver designed to extract three independent audio pairs and present one balanced XLR output plus two unbalanced RCA outputs. It accepts Format-A signals delivered over RJ45 twisted-pair cabling and provides selectable XLR output level for MIC or LINE. The front panel includes a power LED for visual status confirmation.
Key features include a switch-selectable XLR output set to -45 dBu (mic) or +4 dBu (line), two -10 dBV RCA outputs for left and right channels, and active balanced circuitry for low noise and high rejection of interference. The module uses pair A for the XLR output, pair B for left RCA, and pair C for right RCA. The receiver supports multiple bridged receivers on the same feed for flexible system placement.
Performance specifications include a frequency response of 10 Hz to 50 kHz at ±0.1 dB, THD+N below 0.005%, noise below -90 dB referenced to -4 dBu, and crosstalk better than 90 dB at 1 kHz. Common mode rejection exceeds 80 dB in the critical 50 Hz to 150 Hz range and headroom above +4 dBu is greater than 18 dB. These metrics deliver studio-quality audio fidelity from twisted-pair infrastructure.
Connectivity is straightforward: a single RJ45 input accepts Format-A signals and a rear-panel detachable terminal block permits local 24 Vdc power input. The module can be remotely powered over the same twisted pair feed from other Format-A modules or power inserters. Local power is fused and is distributed to connected modules to simplify power distribution.
Typical applications include house-of-worship audio distribution, remote mic feeds, conference AV zones, and distributed background music systems where centralized sources are sent to multiple remote locations. The DB-TPR3A allows installers to place receivers at convenient endpoints while maintaining balanced XLR outputs for mixers or mic preamps. Multiple receivers can be bridged on the same pair to provide audio to several endpoints without additional cabling.
Installation is simplified by Decora-style front panels that fit standard U.S. electrical boxes or RDL WB-1U/WB-2U mounts. The unit is available in a black front-panel laminate for discreet installations.
