Description
The D-NVC2 is a Dante / AES67 network volume control that provides precise digital attenuation and muting for one or two network audio channels. It features a full-color 240 x 240 pixel LCD and a mechanical rotary encoder for intuitive local control. The unit is PoE powered and mounts in a standard US electrical box for clean wall installation.
The D-NVC2 applies attenuation in 1 dB steps from 0 to 63 dB then mute, and supports selectable Dante sample rates of 44.1 kHz, 48 kHz, 88.2 kHz, and 96 kHz. The rotary encoder includes programmable acceleration to allow quick level changes or fine adjustments, and a momentary push mutes or unmutes with screen indication. Installer-configurable menu options let you adjust output A, B, or both and define channel names via RDL CONSOLE.
Audio routing is done on the network with audio flows passing through the D-NVC2 and being adjusted digitally in-line. The unit can accept one stereo source or two mono sources and may sum stereo to mono when configured; outputs are then routed to downstream Dante/AES67 destinations. Network bandwidth typically supports up to four remote controls per zone when using compatible RDL remotes.
Connectivity is via a single RJ45 network connector with LED indicators for link and speed, and the front panel displays power status. The D-NVC2 integrates with other Dante and AES67 devices and can be remotely controlled by RDL D-NMC1R or D-NLC1R units. Screen color themes and installer defaults are programmable through RDL CONSOLE to match system preferences.
Typical applications include zoned audio level control for background music, paging zones, or amplifier input control in commercial and hospitality installations. Users can quickly mute or adjust levels at the point of use while installers retain control over locking, passcodes, and timeout behavior. The display automatically dims after inactivity and returns to full brightness on knob activity.
