The D-NMC1R is a networked rotary remote control designed to provide local volume control, muting and preset recall for Dante-enabled audio systems. It features a full-color 240 x 240 pixel LCD that displays volume and menu information. The unit is PoE powered to simplify installation and eliminate the need for separate power supplies.
Key features include a mechanical-detent rotary encoder with programmable acceleration, momentary push for mute/unmute and extended push for menu access. The menu supports volume, Bluetooth control and installer-programmed presets that can execute complex RDL CONSOLE commands. Attenuation adjusts in 1 dB steps across a 0 to 64 dB range to allow precise level control.
Technically the D-NMC1R communicates over a 100 Mbps Ethernet link using an RJ45 connector with LED indicators for link and speed. The rotary control supports short push, long push and rotation functions for intuitive user interaction. The display returns to dim mode after 30 seconds of inactivity and menu functions may be locked with a programmable passcode.
Connectivity supports control of RDL D-RN and DD-RN devices and can send level commands to other network audio endpoints including Dante devices. Presets can set audio levels, adjust gain, mix sources, pair Bluetooth, and establish or clear Dante routings. Up to eight presets can address one to eight network-controlled devices as configured in RDL CONSOLE.
Typical applications include distributed audio zones where local user control and centralized configuration are both required. Use the D-NMC1R in meeting rooms, hospitality zones, retail environments or any Dante network where simple user access to volume, mute and source presets is needed. Multiple D-NMC1R units can control the same endpoints and maintain synchronized level displays.
Installation is straightforward – the unit mounts in a standard US electrical box and is powered via PoE Class 0 IEEE 802.3af. The installer can refine knob acceleration, assign presets and set menu locks using RDL CONSOLE configuration software. The front panel indicator and selectable screen color themes aid usability and system integration.
