The D-NLC1R is a network-connected rotary volume control designed to provide precise remote attenuation and mute control for compatible network audio devices. It features a circular LED rotary string display that reports the audio attenuation reported by the controlled device. The unit is PoE powered for simple deployment in modern networked AV systems.
Key features include a mechanical-detent rotary encoder, momentary push-to-mute operation, and LED indication of level and mute states. Attenuation is adjustable in 1 dB steps across a 0 to 64 dB range for accurate level matching. The knob offers programmable acceleration to quickly change levels while preserving fine control for small adjustments.
On the network side the D-NLC1R uses an RJ45 connector at 100 Mbps and provides status LEDs for link and speed. The front panel contains a 10-segment level LED ring while two rear LEDs indicate Ethernet link and speed. The display automatically dims after 30 seconds of inactivity and returns to full intensity on user interaction.
Connectivity and compatibility include standard PoE Class 0 IEEE 802.3af power, support for RDL D-RN and DD-RN products and the ability to send level commands to other network audio endpoints. Multiple D-NLC1R units can control a single device while maintaining tracking displays, and a single D-NLC1R can control multiple devices where supported. Configuration of knob acceleration and behavior is performed in RDL CONSOLE.
Typical applications include distributed audio zones where local user control is required, auxiliary volume control locations in multiroom systems, and monitoring of attenuation reported by networked audio processors. The push-to-mute function provides immediate mute/unmute feedback across all linked controllers. The unit supports coordinated multi-user control while minimizing network bandwidth impact.
The D-NLC1R mounts in a standard US electrical box and is available in black, white, or stainless steel finishes to match wall plates and decor. Its PoE power simplifies wiring and eliminates the need for a local power supply. Field-upgradable firmware and a compact footprint make the D-NLC1R straightforward to install and maintain.
