The CS1912 is a 2-port DisplayPort KVM switch that lets a single USB console control two DisplayPort-equipped computers. It combines KVM switching with a SuperSpeed USB 3.1 Gen1 hub and 2.1 channel audio to meet modern desktop AV and data-transfer demands. The unit supports resolutions up to 3840 x 2160 at 30 Hz to preserve image clarity for detailed work.
Key features include independent switching of KVM, USB and audio focus, a built-in USB 3.1 Gen1 hub offering up to 5 Gbps transfer rates, and support for HD audio carried over DisplayPort. Users can select computers via front panel pushbuttons, hotkeys or mouse switching. The CS1912 also supports DP++ for passive DisplayPort-to-HDMI/DVI adapters in compatible setups.
Performance specifications cover 4K video at 30 Hz, USB 3.1 Gen1 SuperSpeed data rates, and power detection that auto-switches to the next powered computer. The KVM provides keyboard and mouse emulation/bypass for broad peripheral compatibility. Firmware is upgradable to maintain feature currency and compatibility.
Connectivity includes DisplayPort monitor connection, two computer DisplayPort inputs, USB Type A console ports, USB Type B computer ports, and two 3.5mm audio jacks. The integrated USB hub supplies two USB 3.1 Gen1 Type A ports, one on the front and one on the rear panel. The switch is hot-pluggable so computers can be added or removed without powering down the unit.
The CS1912 is suited to video post production, CAD design, and other applications that require precise video clarity and large file transfers. It supports Windows, Mac and Linux platforms and provides multilingual keyboard mapping for English, Japanese, French and German layouts. Mac keyboard emulation is supported when required.
Installation and operation are straightforward thanks to front panel controls, keyboard hotkeys and mouse switching in emulation mode. The compact metal and plastic housing and standard console connectors make deployment simple on a desktop or within a rack environment. The CS1912 balances audio/video fidelity, USB throughput and practical control features for demanding desktop AV workflows.
