The AJA Corvid 44 CRV44-T-NC1 is a multi-format PCIe I/O card designed to expand video and audio I/O capacity in workstation and server platforms. It provides four independently configurable 3G/HD/SD-SDI BNC connections that can function as inputs or outputs. The card supports combining connections for 4K/UltraHD workflows and supports high frame rates to meet current and future production needs.
Each SDI connector on the Corvid 44 can be set independently as input or output and can support mixed formats when using the same master clock. The card supports 4K 4096×2160 and UltraHD 3840×2160 resolutions and high frame rate operation at 48p, 50p and 60p for smooth motion. Corvid 44 also supports multiple HD channels and dual-link configurations, enabling flexible channel aggregation.
On the technical side, Corvid 44 is an 8-lane PCIe Gen 2.0 device with support for 8/10-bit YCbCr and 12-bit RGB frame buffer formats depending on application. The card delivers 16-channel SDI embedded audio I/O engines at 48 kHz and supports SMPTE SDI standards including SMPTE-259/292/296/424/425. Power consumption is modest and the card is suitable for fanless deployments when chassis airflow requirements are met.
Connectivity includes 4x 3G-SDI BNC connectors supporting SD/HD/2K/4K formats and 16-channel 24-bit SDI embedded audio at 48 kHz synchronous for both input and output. Synchronization options include analog Color Black or HD tri-level sync inputs. The card is compatible with AJA developer partner applications and can be integrated into capture, monitoring, and processing systems via available SDKs.
Typical applications for Corvid 44 include multi-channel ingest and playout, live production servers, software-based switchers, and post production workflows that require independent SDI I/O or aggregated 4K channels.
