The CI6.1X is a 6.5in 2-way in-ceiling speaker engineered to deliver accurate full-range audio for home theater and stereo music systems. It combines a 6.5in woven glass fiber woofer and a variable-axis soft dome tweeter to provide balanced tonal output. The design emphasizes imaging and on-axis clarity for listeners in common ceiling-mounted installations.
The speaker features a variable-axis 1in soft dome tweeter that allows high frequencies to be aimed toward the listening area. The 6.5in woven glass fiber woofer uses an NBR surround for controlled cone motion and extended low-frequency response. A 2-way Absolute Phase crossover preserves phase coherence between drivers for consistent sound staging.
Measured frequency response is 40 Hz – 22 kHz (+/-3 dB), with a sensitivity rating of 90 dB (1W/1M) and a nominal impedance of 8 ohm. Recommended amplifier power ranges from 10 to 150 W to accommodate both efficient and higher-output systems. These specifications support clear mids and highs along with usable low-end for typical residential and light commercial spaces.
As a passive in-ceiling transducer, the CI6.1X connects to standard amplifier speaker outputs and integrates into multi-channel and multi-room systems. Its 8 ohm nominal impedance and recommended power range make it compatible with most AV receivers and dedicated power amplifiers. The included micro-flange grille mounts flush to the ceiling for a discreet visual profile.
Typical applications include main or surround speakers in home theaters, stereo listening rooms, and distributed ceiling audio in residential or light commercial environments. The speaker provides high-frequency directionality control useful when exact speaker placement relative to seating is limited. Its frequency range and sensitivity support both background music and dynamic program material.
Installation is simplified by a 7.875in cutout and a shallow mounting depth of 4.375in, allowing use in most ceiling cavities. External dimensions measure 9.34in diameter and 4.625in depth, and the grille is white powder-coated galvanized steel for paintability and corrosion resistance. A pre-construction bracket option (RB-21) is available to streamline new-construction installations.
