The CI-SURRX is a 6.5in 2-way in-wall surround speaker designed to deliver immersive surround imaging in residential theater systems. It features a dual voice coil woofer and two pivoting tweeters for flexible dispersion control. The unit is engineered to operate in multiple surround modes to match room acoustics and listener position.
Key features include switchable Bipole/Dipole and Mono/Stereo operation, a dual voice coil 6.5in woven glass fiber woofer with NBR surround, and two 1in pivoting woven synthetic soft dome tweeters. The speaker includes a paintable white powder-coated galvanized steel micro-flange grille that minimizes visible flange while allowing aesthetic finishing. The design is weather resistant to permit installation in bathrooms and outdoor covered areas.
Performance specifications provide a frequency response of 45 Hz – 20 kHz and a sensitivity of 90 dB measured at 1W/1M. Nominal impedance is 8 Ohm and the 2-way Absolute Phase crossover ensures coherent phase response across the band. Recommended amplifier power range is 10 – 150 W to accommodate a variety of system designs.
The CI-SURRX supports combining its dual inputs for stereo operation or using the switch to set Bipole/Dipole dispersion for surround effects. The speaker’s weather resistant enclosure and grille make it suitable for humid environments such as bathrooms and poolside covered areas. A pre-construction bracket (RB-23) is available to simplify new construction installations.
This in-wall speaker is well suited for home theater surround channels where controlled dispersion and switchable polar patterns are required.
