The CCUSB-5M is a PS/2 (+Video) to USB (+Video) converter cable designed to connect Sun, Mac, laptop or PC (USB) computers to PS/2 style KVM switches. It provides an intelligent interface that preserves keyboard and video signals while maintaining system compatibility across multiple platforms. This cable is supplied in a 32ft (10m) length to accommodate typical rack and console layouts.
Key features include fully moulded robust construction and colour coded connectors to simplify installation and reduce connection errors. The cable incorporates miniature keep alive circuitry that maintains keyboard presence to the host even if the KVM switch is powered off. An intelligent communications system allows enhanced integration with ADDER MP Matrix and 108 MP switches for improved control and detection.
Technical details include keyboard country code reporting and DDC support to ensure Sun compatibility and correct keyboard mapping. Downloadable drivers are available to support different keyboard layouts and future firmware improvements.
