The CAB-UAOC-15 is a 15m active optical USB extension cable designed to extend USB connectivity up to 15 meters (49ft) without signal loss. It provides full USB 3.2 Gen2 performance over a lightweight fiber core while maintaining compatibility with legacy USB 2.0 devices. The cable is plenum rated for installations in air handling spaces and other fire-rated environments.
Key features include USB 3.2 Gen2 data rates up to 10Gbps, Type A male to Type A female connectors, and a maximum power carry of 5V 900mA. The active optical construction isolates the link from EMI and RF interference while Kevlar-reinforced cores add tensile strength. The cable supports backward compatibility with USB 2.0 and operation with USB 3.0 hubs where power budgets permit.
Performance specifications include a maximum bandwidth of 10Gbps and a measured power consumption of 0.2W on both ends. Connectivity is simple and driver-free – plug the CAB-UAOC-15 Type A female into your peripheral USB cable and connect the male end to the host.
